The proposed pathway between Brooklyn and Governors Island begins at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, in Red Hook, veres slightly northward towards lower Manhattan, then turns southward towards the Verrazano Bridge and then resolves into Yankee Pier on Governors Island.

Because the project necessitates closure of Buttermilk Channel, the duration of the bridge's installation will be a single day. Inspired by that constraint, the design is modular in nature, and can be built from readily-available materials using basic construction techniques.
